I've been subscribed to you for a bit now but have never read anything. Due only to the fact that I'm over-subscribed and don't make time for all of it. Glad I dug into this one... It was highly insightful, pleasant to read, and authentic. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!
You have such a big beautiful heart! 🥰 Love how soft this piece is, and the contrast with how sharp your mind is. Also, your mind is incredibly unique. The way that you digress, flicker, to new subjects which connect to your thesis, as well as your digression, are just simply beautiful. We live in an age that wants to further pigeonhole, although I think that’s timeless human nature. And diagnose. and label. But darlin, brains like yours is how the human race survived as long as it has.
I love the ruminations here and the change of pace from your main subjects. It's all connected I think. What continues to stand out is your ability to come up and share your unique perspective in a way that makes me pause. I can't chug your writing. I have to digest it. And in this hyperactive world, I welcome that.
Beautiful reflections, especially the reminder that we're dynamic beings, in motion, and changing at all times (therefore, stop comparing ourselves to others all the time). The whole note, though, resonates with me a lot as a dad (that's getting older), a bike nerd (we should talk about that Cannondale), a cycling-trip fan, and econ/market guy.
My husband and I watched the YouTube version of this piece this evening. We’ve both been similarly drifting towards getting burned out at work. After watching the video, we had a great chat about where we are at in life and how we’d both like some kind of shakeup or change- be it jobs, taking a step on the family side, or a move. Thanks for the thought provoking piece- it takes a lot to generate a conversation like that on a Wednesday night!
Cycling is a great way to see a country. You don´t get the same perspective from inside a car.
agree :)
I really enjoyed this, very insightful. And it added one more reason for me to visit France someday…with my daughter!
yes! it was so wonderful
Beautiful words, Kyla. Thanks.
thanks nick :)

Wonderfully written Kyla - I've been wanting to do a France bike trip, what bike tour company did you use and would you recommend it?
i used duvine and really liked it :)
I am so glad you had this experience in France. It made you more human. What impact a few days can make. Congrats.

Hola Kyla. Long time on-off reader. Always a treat. Finding out you enjoy bikes, check out @teganphillipscomics on IG. You two put out close vibes.
Her approach is less markets and more lifestyle and bicycles. I think you'd enjoy her.
Let me know, because I adore her.
So sweet and insightful! Also great quotes!

Nice meditation -- the trip sounds like quite the adventure!
I just saw the recent documentary about Vonnegut. Very interesting, I recommend it if you're a fan.
I hope the anxiety is better! 💚 🥃
You brought a smile to my face, today. Thanks !
